It's cheaper to be green
There are immediate benefits in greening your business.
Saving on your water, energy, material and waste handling makes direct economic sense.
With increases to resource costs slated for the near future, businesses that have low consumption requirements stand to benefit from reduced operational costs.
Your company can benefit by increasing efficiencies business wide. Involving all levels of staff – from your greenkeeper to your receptionist – is one way to do this. If you engage your employees in reducing their environmental impact at work, they are more likely to volunteer ideas on how to make your operations smooth and streamlined.
Green training makes sure that your employees have the right skills to do the job properly. A green skilled workforce is less likely to take risks that may impact on the environment, your reputation, insurance premiums and regulatory requirements.
There is a range of industry specific courses available to help your employees protect the environment and achieve resource and cost savings, for example by:
- reducing environmental impact
- using resources efficiently
- reducing waste
- disposing of waste safely
Did you know?
Webbing and Trimming, a textile producer in Padstow, took a stockpile of 170 tonnes of fabric in obsolete colours and redyed it to more saleable darker colours.
The new fabric stock was then able to be sold to wholesalers, rather than sent to scrap - an unexpected windfall that also saved on waste.
